Explorer and award-winning author, James Michael Dorsey returns to the library to revive his “BEFORE THEY VANISH,” travel presentation series.

James has visited dozens of isolated cultures in the world’s most remote areas; many that have no written language. Through vivid digital photography and master storytelling, James will introduce you to people and places much of the world does not know exist. Each monthly presentation will take you inside at least two varied societies.

EXTREME EXPEDITIONS.

This month, explorer and author James Michael Dorsey will take you along on three of his most extreme and life-threatening expeditions. We will cross the southern Sahara of Mali by camel with Tuareg nomads, join an ancient salt caravan, climb a remote volcano in the Ethiopian desert while evading bandits, and join a clan of hunter/gatherers in Tanzania to participate in a most unusual baboon hunt.

James will be selling and signing his books about these travels and looks forward to answering your questions about how our fellow humankind lives across this planet.
