Book Flight Book Club- The Snow Child
Book Flight: a group that samples across the genres. Each month we will try something new and meet together to dive into the book together!
Alaska, 1920: a brutal place to homestead, and especially tough for recent arrivals Jack and Mabel. Childless, they are drifting apart-- he breaking under the weight of the work of the farm; she crumbling from loneliness and despair. In a moment of levity during the season's first snowfall, they build a child out of snow. The next morning the snow child is gone--but they glimpse a young, blondehaired girl running through the trees.
Join us as we discuss Eowyn Ivey's debut and Pulitzer Prize finalist, The Snow Child which is a wonderful, heartwarming, sad, and beautifully told bewitching tale based on a Russian fairytale titled "Snegurochka"
Book Flight will meet on Zoom. Please register to be in contact with staff, or call 831-646-3933 for more information. A Zoom link will be provided for participants.
