Cannery Row Days: Steinbeck's Uneasy America, 1960s and 2025
Susan Shillinglaw and Barbara Heavlin recently published a collection of essays entitled Steinbeck’s Uneasy America: Rereading Travels with Charley. In this presentation, we’ll discuss the political and social landscape of the 1960s, Steinbeck’s political and ecological stances, and how the book tallies with today’s concerns.
