Take a Deep Breath: Drop-in Mindfulness Practice

Take a Deep Breath: Drop-in Mindfulness Practice

"Mindfulness ... moment-to-moment awareness, which is cultivated by paying attention in a specific way, in the present moment, as non-reactivity, non-judgmentally, and open-heartedly as possible." - Jon Kabat-Zinn

Join together in community for a gently guided mindfulness practice every Tuesday at 12:30 pm. Mindfulness provides the opportunity to intentionally practice being present and aware, leading to improved health and well-being in relation to all that arises in life.

This weekly guided mindfulness practice is led by rotating local teachers on Zoom. On the first Tuesday of the month, it is offered on Zoom and in the Monterey Public Library using chairs. Participants may also join by phone. Guided mindfulness practices may vary weekly between teachers, from seated breath and body awareness to movement, sound, sensory exploration, and loving-kindness practices.

Zoom registration closes an hour before the program. Registration is welcomed for in-person practice; however, it is not required. Zoom access information will be sent to registered participants shortly before the program begins. You may register once and participate every week with the same Zoom meeting access information. Attendees are welcome to arrive and leave at any time.

Take a breath for our well-being and share this intentional practice of cultivating awareness and connection. Together, we can create a kinder, more loving world!
