Join local writer and artist Patrice Vecchione for an altered book and writing workshop on Thursday, July 18 from 10:15 - 12:45. Each participant will receive a book with most pages transformed into a frame, ready to be renewed and reinvented through the use collaged images. After we create our altered books, we’ll write in response to the transformations we’ve created.

 

Note to those registering:

All needed materials will be provided, however you are welcome to bring personal materials you may wish to use in creating your altered book: Small paper to include such as photographs or color-copies of photographs, documents, receipts, stamps, decorative paper. Bring any small embellishments you might want to include such as buttons, sequins, beads, old keys, fabric swatches, small 3D toys, metal pieces like small bolts or any kind of ephemera to use in your piece. The library has scissors, but if you would like to bring your own, large and small, and edging scissors could be helpful. Bring a smock or apron or wear clothes you don’t mind possibly getting glue on. A reminder with this information will be sent a few days before the program to those registered.
