Join explorer and award-winning author, James Michael Dorsey, as he continues his “Before They Vanish,” travelogue series at the Monterey Library.
Tonight, we will journey to the ancient kingdom of Cambodia to visit the largest religious complex on earth whose carved stone walls tell the history of the Khmer people, venture into the jungle to explore temples that predate Angkor by centuries, meet remote monasteries of monks and nuns who are surprisingly worldly, ride on one of the most unusual railways in existence, learn of the countries brutal history under the Khmer Rouge, and explore the deadly minefields that permeate this land of beauty and myth.
