SUMMER SCARES: Horror Reading & Writing Workshop

SUMMER SCARES: Horror Reading & Writing Workshop

Join us in the Community Room at 4pm for SUMMER SCARES: Horror Reading and Writing Workshop in partnership with the Horror Writers Association. (For Adults)

We will be reading a short story from Daniel M. Lavery's "The Merry Spinster", discussing the story and the horror genre. Participants will have a chance to practice their own writing with a horror prompt.

Taking well-tred children’s classics like “The Velveteen Rabbit” and fairy tales like “The Little Mermaid” and twisting them into something unconventional, wholly original, but still recognizable, these irreverent and darkly humorous stories mix horror, social commentary, and Lavery’s trademark wit to explore the complexities and darker elements of stories we think we know, and examine the stories we tell each other, all while shining a light on the modern world.

Registration required.
